What's Pouring...

Merriman's Market Café has started a new Lilikoi infused vodka. Infused for four days with Kau oranges and mint from the garden, the concoction created a great flavor combination of fresh Big Island products. The vodka took on the classic flavor combo of Passion-OJ with a twist of the fresh mint, creating lots of drink possibilities and creative combinations for servers and guests. Market Café is also doing a Pineapple and dragon fruit cocktail that has an amazing color from the dragon fruit and the delicious flavor from local pineapples.

Merriman's Waimea experienced a fantastic reception from their Summer Wine Flight du Fortnight offering of four Loire Chenin Blancs of various styles. The new cocktail list from Jim Lunchik has also been a hit with cocktails ranging from " Sweet and Serendipitous" to "Savory & Serious"" to standout cocktails such as "The Botanist", "She's So Manhattan" and best sellers, the Mobeeto and Ginger Martini.

Merriman's Kapalua hosted their first annual Tiki Party at the The Point, a throwback celebration of nostalgic cocktails as rediscovered by Beachbum Berry and Dale Degroff. Switching the monthly Werewolf Wine tastings to a more cocktail driven concept, Beverage Director Jeff Groh has plans to make the event different every month. The end of October will also mark their inaugural La Paulèe de Merriman's event – a celebration of harvest that will encourage guests to taste the best Burgundy's, and bring their own bottle to share in the tradition of La Paulèe.

Monkeypod Kitchen - The bartenders at Monkeypod Kitchen are currently in a heated competition. Who will get their very own cocktail on the menu? With each bartender given a spirit and a PC% to stay under, the winner will get to name the cocktail and gain some pretty powerful bragging rights. Monkeypod Kitchen's "Pod Tai" has also been featured in The San Francisco Chronicle with credit given to Beverage Director Jason Vendrell – Congratulations Monkeypoders!

Merriman's Poipu – Merriman's Downstairs Café is now officially Merriman's Gourmet Pizza's and Burgers! In honor of the change, Bar Manager Ashley Roney has been busy revising the cocktail menu, playing around with the idea of "Milk Shakes For Grown Ups." One drink that is featured is called The Dude. It's a blended white Russian with vodka, Kahlua, creme de cocoa, and ice cream. It's topped with whipped cream and garnished with Kauai coffee's chocolate covered pea berries.
